RAK Investment Authority (RAKIA) is a United Arab Emirates-based Sovereign Wealth Fund which was established in 2005 by the Government of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) to attract foreign investments and to accelerate development in Ras Al Khaimah. Based in Ras Al Khaimah, the Authority aims to make Ras Al Khaimah a regional hub for industrial manufacturing, services and tourism. They assess economic feasibility studies pertaining to investment and promote developmental projects and investment opportunities across economic sectors and facilitate processing of applications for setting up and licensing companies wishing to establish investment projects in Ras Al Khaimah. RAKIA develops and manages Industrial Zones and Free Zones, warehouses and business centers in Ras Al Khaimah, attracting worldwide investment in diverse and strategic industry segments including glass & tableware, float glass sheet, cement, DVD media factory, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, consumable hygienic products, vehicle assembly, hotels & hospitality business, health & education and tourism.
