Prior to joining Genus in 2002, Mr. Giesbrecht spent four years with the investment consulting practice of the accounting firm, KPMG.
In addition to his role as Senior Investment Counselor in the Vancouver office, he was responsible for the firm’s asset allocation modeling, the research of discretionary money managers, and the analysis of manager and client investment performance.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg, Mr. Giesbrecht received his Master of Arts degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University, where he concentrated on quantitative methods and finance.
He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Mr. Giesbrecht is a member of the Association of Investment Management and Research (AIMR), the Vancouver Society of Financial Analysts, and the Association of Professional Economists of British Columbia
