After active duty in the U.S.
Navy, Mr. Springman entered the investment management profession in 1963 with St. Louis Union Trust Company, where he served as an Investment Officer until 1970.
From 1970 to 1982 he was the Chief Investment Officer for the San Francisco City and County Employees' Retirement System.
In 1982 he became a Senior Vice President and Associate Director of Portfolio Management for Crocker Investment Management Corporation.
In 1984 he formed the investment firm of George B. Springman, Inc., where he managed institutional portfolios.
He joined Wentworth, Hauser and Violich in 1991.
Mr. Springman was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1971 and the Chartered Investment Counsel designation in 1991.
Mr. Springman received a BS in 1961 from St. Louis University and a MBA from St. Mary's College in 1978.
