J. Michael Gatens

J.
Michael Gatens is the founding Chairman of Canadian Society For Evolving Energy.
He was also the founder of Quicksilver Resources Canada, Inc. (1997) where he held the title of Chairman & Chief Executive Officer until 2010, and Unconventional Gas Resources Canada Operating, Inc. (2007) where he held the title of Chief Executive Officer until 2014.
Mr. Gatens's current jobs include Director positions at Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada, Primavera Resources Corp., and membership at Society of Petroleum Engineers, Inc. (since 1977).
Mr. Gatens's former jobs include Director & Vice President at S.A. Holditch & Associates, Inc., Director at PetroGlobe, Inc. (2006-2010), Director at Petroleum Technology Transfer Council (1994-2003), Member-Governors Board at Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (2008), and Petroleum Engineer at Bass Enterprises Production Co. Mr. Gatens received his undergraduate degree in 1980 and his graduate degree in 1987 from Texas A&M University.
