The Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization representing Pennsylvania’s 1,453 second-class townships and approximately 14,000 township officials and local government members. The private company is based in Enola, PA. PSATS serves as a resource and advocacy body dedicated to supporting township governance and operations across the state. Membership is automatic for elected or appointed township officials through their township’s membership, providing access to services such as training programs, educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops on topics including municipal governance, public safety, land use, environmental protection, and roadway maintenance. The association offers specialized programs like the CDL drug and alcohol testing program to help local governments comply with regulations. Advocacy is a core function, with PSATS promoting local government flexibility, opposing unfunded mandates, and representing township interests at state and federal levels.
