TI's investment strategy focuses on innovative ideas with large technology content in the IT, information and communication sectors of firms in the earliest phases, pre-seed and seed. TI's investment objectives are to add value, develop and grow their portfolio firms leading them to an attractive exit. They typically invest DKR 1.77 million in technology-based ideas developing into new growth firms. Follow-on investments of DKR 2.5 million are possible alongside another investor (for example, 40% from TI and 60% from the private investor). In addition to capital injections, they provide coaching and consulting and access to their networks of advisers, technical specialists, advisory groups, and industry expertise. TI looks for ideas and firms displaying significant commercial potential in the areas of energy technology, environment, micro- and nanotechnology, hardware, software and wireless, mobile computing/true mobility, personalized computing, games/entertainment, connectivity, and pervasive computing. Within these areas, they look for broad product development and application where they can respond to different purposes such as production, processes, distribution, communication, and management. Decisive investment criteria factors include the following: products with broad use and market-needs fulfillment in both B2C and B2B; projects are scalable with export potential and rapid international expansion possibilities; uniqueness of product compared to market, technology, function, or timing; unique business model and ideally several income sources.
