AER Advisors stock selection process and proprietary investment research is based on the principles of fundamental analysis, valuation and supply/demand dynamics. The firm's investment approach is based on their core belief that stock prices follow earnings over the long-term. They look for unique growth candidates relative to undervalued stocks and for companies not widely covered and owned by the investment community. AER employs proprietary research to identify sectors and stocks with improving or deteriorating fundamentals. They do this by measuring money flow and price movements along with fundamental overlays. In general, AER will sell a stock when their research indicates it is underperforming. AER's investment process begins with identifying changes in money flows and price movements across 36 equity sectors which includes over 3000 large-, mid- and small-cap US-traded stocks and ADRs. They combine the quantitative aspects of stock money flow with traditional fundamental security analysis to identify stocks with strong earnings growth, low valuations and positive money flow. This results in the firm's Master Stock List which defines AER's universe of investable stocks. AER tracks and rates the stocks of US-traded companies with market-caps greater than $400 million with an average trading volume of at least 100,000 shares per day. The Master Stock List is updated on a weekly basis with current earnings, sales and revenue growth and money flow data. AER's investment management approach stems from their alpha research discipline. The firm constructs customized portfolios that re designed to meet each client's investment objectives and benchmarks for performance. They provide a broad spectrum of investment management styles including large-cap, small-cap and mid-cap equities, long/short equity strategies, as well as sector specific and international portfolios. AER serves as the investment sub-adviser for the first-ever actively-managed equity ETFs, which are traded in the US on the NYSE Arca. The funds were launched in April, 2008. The ETFs are based on a flexible universe of over 3000 US exchange-listed stocks. They seek to outperform traditional index ETFs. The ETFs AER manages are based on the flexible stock universe they select. The ETFs AER sub-advises are based on stock selection and are managed through a proprietary stock screening research methodology that employs both fundamental and quantitative criteria. On a weekly basis, the universe of each fund is reviewed to generally maintain the portfolio in the highest ranking stocks. The firm maintains the option to eliminate up to 3 stocks per week and to replace those with the highest ranked stocks in their universe which not currently held in the fund. Thus, AER has the ability to remove underperforming stocks on a weekly basis. The fund's holdings may be changed only once per week on the last business day of each week.
