Amery, CFA, is a Vice President & Senior Portfolio Manager at 1832 Asset Management LP.
He is a Co-Head of the Core Fixed Income Team.
He brings over 20 years of fixed income investment management experience.
Mr. Amery joined the firm in 2019.
Mr. Amery’s investment style focuses on a balance of interest rate and credit-driven strategies with key consideration given to risk, research and relative value, with an emphasis on Canadian fixed-income markets.
He incorporates a wide range of strategy levers including asset allocation, macro level analysis, individual credit selection, as well as duration and yield curve strategies.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Amery spent 16 years as a Portfolio Manager at HSBC Global Asset Management, the last 11 of these years as the Head of Canadian Fixed Income.
He was directly responsible for over $6 billion in AUM.
Before joining HSBC, he worked at TAL Global Asset Management for nine years, first as an Analyst and then as Portfolio Manager.
He graduated from Dalhousie University and earned an MA in Economics.
Before that, he earned an Honours BA in Economics from Queen’s University.
He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
