Mr. Mark Liimatta is a Senior Associate at Ares Management LLC.
He joined Ares Management in August 2011 as a Senior Associate in the Private Debt Real Estate Group.
He previously worked for Wrightwood Capital where he was responsible for the administration and asset management of the conventional construction, structured, and mezzanine loans in the direct lending portfolio.
Prior to his role at Wrightwood Capital, Mr. Liimatta served as Portfolio Manager at Heller Financial where he was responsible for a 200 million residential loan portfolio that included mezzanine loans and homebuilder revolving lines of credit.
Before Heller Financial, he worked as an analyst for the real estate portfolio of Kemper Insurance, where he was involved in the management of office, hotel, residential, and land assets.
Mr. Liimatta started in real estate in 1990 with The Balcor Company where he held various positions in investor relations, loan administration, and insurance.
Mr. Liimatta received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
