Omar Mahmoud

Omar is Managing Director at Creador, as well as Country Head for the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
His key focus is to identify new investments for Creador as it looks to expand its geographical coverage across Southeast Asia.
He is a member of the Creador Investment Committee and is also responsible for fundraising at the firm.
Prior to joining Creador, Omar was Managing Director & Country Head of Global Banking at HSBC Malaysia.
In his 15-year tenure with the bank, he worked in various roles across Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, in addition to Scandinavia, the UK and Ireland.
He also spent three years working in HSBC’s Specialised Finance department in London, structuring debt finance transactions for Private Equity buyouts across Europe.
Omar is a qualified barrister, called to the bar at the Inner Temple, London.
He has two degrees: one in Law from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, and one in Finance from the University of Manchester.
Outside of work, Omar is passionate about music and plays a variety of sports.
He is also an avid traveller and is constantly exploring new places to try different types of food and wine.
