IA invests in the Italian mid-market segment across industrial, commercial and service sectors. In partnership with the portfolio firm's management, IA's investment objective is to create value. They look for transaction values of at least €100 million. They typically acquire 100% or a controlling stake of the portfolio firm, either independently or in partnership with other investors. IA also takes minority stakes in special situations where the exit strategy is clearly defined and viable. IA considers three types of private equity investments: leveraged acquisitions with investments in market- or niche-leading firms having robust cash-flows and stable performances; turnaround situations with financing in underperforming firms which have identified re-launch strategies and restructuring policies; development capital for firms with clearly defined growth plans through specific industrial projects. Within their targeted industry sectors, the firm has specifically invested in diverse areas such as publishing, automotive components, textile machinery, radiology equipment, biodegradable materials, online trading, packaging, pharmaceutical logistical services, food, sportswear, rubber and plastic, and distribution. IA is an active investment manager. In addition to financial support, they provide management expertise through strategy definition and access to their network of industry experts.
