Patrick Durkin

Mr. Durkin is a Managing Director, Head of External Relations, having joined in January 2015, and is based in New York.
As Head of External Relations, Mr. Durkin’s responsibilities include investor and corporate relations, government and regulatory strategies, and communications.
Previously, Mr. Durkin was a Managing Director at Barclays responsible for Regulatory and Government Affairs starting in 2009.
Prior to Barclays, Mr. Durkin was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse in the Alternative Asset Management Group responsible for funds development and capital raising.
In 2001, Credit Suisse acquired Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette (“DLJ”), where Mr. Durkin was a Managing Director and Head of its International Capital Markets Banking business beginning at DLJ in 1994.
In government, Mr. Durkin served in the U.S.
Treasury Department during the Reagan and Bush Administrations and in the U.S.
Congress as a Legislative and Communications Director.
Mr. Durkin also served on the Executive Staff and Chief of Staff of President Reagan’s Commission on Market Reform (“Brady Commission”), on the SEC Competitive Markets Task Force, and on the board of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (“OPIC”).
He served in Policy and Communications roles in the Presidential races for Presidents Bush (41 and 43), Senator McCain and Governor Romney.
Mr. Durkin is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
A native of Greenwich, Connecticut, Mr. Durkin received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College and an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business.
