ICBC UBS is an active, long-term manager which follows a value-oriented investment approach. They construct diversified portfolios invested in money market instruments, bonds and domestic equity. Their products include a Chinese equity fund and a fixed-income fund. The bulk of the assets in the bond fund are invested in the Chinese fixed-income market, complemented with A-share IPOs on the primary market. The firm employs a multi-step bottom-up securities selection process. Stocks are selected according to criteria such as performance, competitive position, and market share. Research is performed in-house as well as shared with Crédit Suisse. Investment decisions are taken by an investment committee.
