Wong Runrun

Runrun currently serves as Managing Director of Empiricus Capital Management, early-stage investment in startups that apply exponential technology to a scalable business model with potential for important social impact.
He is also Managing Director of Lee Kwong Investment, a property holding company based in Hong Kong, and Managing Director of Ascent Investment Limited, a property investment company.
Prior to Empiricus Capital Management, Runrun served as Fund Director and Head of Business Development for Vegasoul Capital Management.
Between January 2010 to November 2011, Runrun managed Vegasoul's capital raising where AUM grew from USD 90 million to over USD 390 million.
At Vegasoul, he conducted portfolio optimization research since 2007, during which he focused on portfolio construction methodology across a portfolio of trading strategies employed in 110 product markets in 17 exchanges.
Prior to Vegasoul, between March 2008 and January 2010, Runrun lead quantitative portfolio investment research as Deputy Portfolio Manager at Fairwind SA, a USD 2 billion Geneva-based family office, where he developed its proprietary portfolio optimization model and responsible for the active management of a USD$ 450 million fund of hedge funds portfolio of 43 managers with Professor Andrea Buraschi, CIO, and Chair of Finance at Imperial College Business School.
Runrun received his BA in Economics at Cornell University, and MPhil/PhD in Finance at the University of Cambridge.
He is also visiting instructor for the International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) program at Peking University and Yale University between 2012 and 2015.
He obtained a Certificate of Studies from United Nations University on Planetary Boundaries and Climate Change.
