Bill Cavitt

Bill Cavitt became an Executive Partner at HCI in 2017.
He brings extensive experience in both commercial and Department of Defense & Aerospace related industries, including private and public companies.
He is currently working with HCI portfolio companies including Echelon Supply and Service and Pacific Defense.
Prior to this, Mr. Cavitt served as President and CEO of a private equity led, aviation focused software company serving a global customer base.
Before that he was American Airlines Vice President of Engineering & Maintenance for 8 years.
This was preceded by executive level work at a technical consulting firm providing classified analysis for the Secretary of Defense as well as the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and the Air Force.
Additionally, he was a Sales and Business Development Director at Northrop Grumman.
He began his career by serving 26 years on active duty with the US Navy, culminating with his final selection to the Secretary of Defense’s staff in the Pentagon.
Mr. Cavitt holds a Master’s of Science in Aeronautical Avionics Engineering, and received his undergraduate degree in Ocean Engineering as a graduate of the US Naval Academy.
He also completed executive management programs at both UVa’s Darden School of Business and the Defense Acquisition University.
