In addition, Cobalt Capital focuses on investments in US and Canadian companies with strong management teams and well-formulated plans for growth either through further market penetration or through expansion into other aligned areas. Companies should also have sustainable competitive advantages through innovative products or proprietary technology, knowledge or processes, as well as leadership positions in markets with significant barriers to entry. Cobalt Capital invests primarily in companies with annual sales of at least $5 million and an operational scale that is a suitable platform for growth. The firm may also consider investments in special situations that fall outside these criteria, if they represent opportunities with substantial potential
