Carlos Vélez

Carlos Vélez has been President of Oriental Mortgage and Executive Vice President of Oriental Financial Group, Inc. since 2004.
Mr. Vélez has more than 20 years of senior level experience in the retail and wholesale mortgage business, ranging from product development, software support, loan production and sales into the secondary market.
Prior to joining Oriental Financial Group, Mr. Vélez worked at Equity Financial Services of San Juan, Puerto Rico and was President of the Equity Wholesale Division from 2002 to 2004.
From 1989 to 2002, he held various positions with the Popular Mortgage Division of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico of San Juan, Puerto Rico, including Officer-Supervisor of Mortgage Centers, Vice President and Manager of New Business and Senior Vice President and Secondary Market Manager.
He is a Director of the Mortgage Banking School and Founder and a Member of the Parliamentary Procedure Institute.
He received a Master's degree in Finance from the Mortgage Banking School and a BA degree in Economics and Management from Interamerican University of San Juan.
