Mr. Charles P.
Alberton, CFA MBA, is a Northwest Divisional Managing Director & Senior Portfolio Manager at City National Rochdale LLC.
He joined the firm in 2000 and has over 20 years of investment management experience.
He works closely with each client’s advisor to develop a customized portfolio based on the client’s investment objective, time horizon, income needs, and tolerance for market volatility.
In this role, he is responsible for the investment strategy implementation and monitoring of private client portfolios, as well as direct relationship management.
Additionally, he is a member of the firm’s PM Council.
He is a board member for the Bay Area Notre Dame Alumni Club and an advisor to the Drake Scholarship Foundation, a local foundation that awards scholarships to assist worthy graduates in continuing their education by providing financial assistance.
Mr. Alberton began his career at Lehman Brothers on the Institutional Fixed Income desk, where he gained valuable experience trading and analyzing various tiers of commercial paper, corporate bonds, municipal bonds, mortgages, asset-backed securities, and other fixed income instruments for institutional investors.
Prior to City National Rochdale, he was employed with Wells Fargo in their Private Client Services group, where he designed and implemented investment strategies for high net worth individuals.
In addition, he was a member of their core domestic large-cap equity team.
Mr. Alberton earned his BS in Business Administration from California State University, Chico and his MBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
He is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of San Francisco, and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association.
