MAM is a contrarian, value-oriented manager which focuses on meeting the needs of specific mandates through balanced, multi asset portfolios. They aim to add value through tactical asset allocation and the selection of stocks and third party funds using a top-down, theme-based approach. The firm utilizes venture capital, real estate, alternative assets and structured products along with traditional asset classes to enhance the risk/return profile of individual mandates. They manage risk through long-term core positions and ranges for each asset class, and through highly diversified mandates. MAM invests directly in UK equities, gilts, prime corporate bonds and preference shares, investing across a wide range of other asset classes, using specialist third party funds and products. Funds are managed for the long term, with an average expected holding period of three to four years.
