Hugh McAlister

Mr. Hugh M.
McAlister is an Independent Non-Executive Director at Powerhouse Energy Group Plc and a Chairman at AlbR Capital Ltd. He is on the Board of Directors at Powerhouse Energy Group Plc, Hyde Park Holdings Ltd. and Novum Private Clients Ltd. He joined the firm as Chief Executive in 2009 and became Chairman of AlbR on October 2025.
Having begun his career in the City in 1978, Mr. McAlister's most recent position was as Co-Founder of Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander Capital Markets which he helped build from a start-up business to one generating substantial profits across its trading and capital markets platforms.
He brings a wealth of experience having worked at a number of the leading investment banks including 12 years (1994-2006) at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson where he was a Managing Director running European Trading.
