The Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC (MPPIA) is a collaborative organization representing the film and television production community. The non-profit company is based in North Vancouver, Canada. It provides members with networking, marketing, industry events, and advocacy to support the province’s creative sector. MPPIA’s membership includes industry leaders from various subsectors, governed by a board of directors comprising companies, associations, and individuals involved in production. The association facilitates communication through town hall panels, addresses industry challenges, and develops safe return-to-work strategies. MPPIA prioritizes community collaboration, equity and inclusion, education and training, and environmental sustainability. Its committees work to reduce barriers, promote diversity, oversee industry-specific training, and support emerging filmmakers through the annual MPPIA Short Film Award. The association also promotes sustainable production practices through its involvement with Reel Green and collaborates with government, business, and community partners to advance BC’s motion picture industry.
