Mr. Robert S.
Hutchinson is Head of Capital Preservation & Senior Portfolio Manager at Sand Hill Global Advisors LLC.
He brings over two decades of financial markets experience to the investment team.
His specific area of focus and research within the financial markets is alternative investments.
Mr. Hutchinson is responsible for Sand Hill’s hedge fund, private equity (including venture capital), and real estate investments.
He is an active member of the Investment Committee where his considerable experience in both emerging markets and options trading is a valued asset.
Before joining Sand Hill, he was a Managing Director at Outrider Management, a hedge fund focused on distressed corporate debt within the emerging markets.
At Outrider, Mr. Hutchinson was involved in all aspects of the business including investing, trading, operations, and investor relations.
Prior to Outrider, he worked as an Options Trader and Manager at RBS and BankBoston.
He began his career at Cooper Neff, an options specialist on the floor of the NYMEX.
Mr. Hutchinson is a graduate of Princeton University with an AB in Economics.
