Vinod Chandrashekaran

Dr. Vinod Chandrashekaran is a Chief Investment Officer, Senior Vice President & Portfolio Manager at American Century Investment Management, Inc. He is also Director of Quantitative Research of the firm.
He is responsible for the firm's quantitatively managed disciplined equity product suite, which includes strategies designed to produce superior risk-adjusted returns relative to their benchmarks.
He also serves as a member of the American Century Investments' Asset Allocation Committee, which is responsible for establishing investment policy and reviewing investment decisions for all of our multi-asset products.
Prior to joining American Century Investment Management in April 2013, Dr. Chandrashekaran was with BlackRock/BGI and served in a number of senior leadership positions.
Since 2010, he has been the head of risk management for the firm's Quantitative Equity and Global-Macro strategies.
Other roles have included head of implementation research for BGI's Quantitative Active Equity teams and head of the U.S.
Large Cap Equity portfolio management team.
Prior to that, he worked with Barra Inc., where he served as head of equity research.
He holds a B.Tech in electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India and a post-graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, India.
He earned a master's degree and Ph.D.
in finance from the University of California at Berkeley.
