Yannis Stournaras is currently the Governor of Bank of Greece SA and a Member of the Governing Council & General Council at the European Central Bank.
He is also a Professor at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens since 1989.
Previously, he was the Chairman & CEO of Emporiki Bank SA from 2000 to 2004, Vice Chairman of DEPA SA from 1994 to 2000, Vice Chairman of The Hellenic Bank Association from 2000 to 2004, Managing Director of Kappa Securities SA from 2005 to 2008, and General Director of the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research from 2009 to 2012.
He was also a Member of the Governors Board at the European Investment Bank.
Dr. Stournaras holds a graduate and doctorate degree from the University of Oxford and an undergraduate degree from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
