Mr. Benjamin L.
Garfield, CFA MBA, is a Portfolio Manager at Welch & Forbes LLC.
He has over 34 years of investment industry experience.
Prior to joining the firm in 2020, Mr. Garfield was a Managing Director at Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, Inc. (CSIA).
He served as a Client Portfolio Manager for the ThomasPartners Strategies and as a member of the ThomasPartners Portfolio Management Team.
He joined ThomasPartners in 2007 prior to the merger of that firm with CSIA in 2018.
Prior to ThomasPartners, he was a Portfolio Manager at State Street Global Advisors, from 1998 to 2003, when his division was acquired by U.S.
Trust (UST).
From 2003 until 2007, he was a VP and member of a team responsible for the oversight and management of the UST New England division fixed income assets.
He earned a Bachelor's degree from Saint Lawrence University and an MBA from the F.W.
Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College.
He is a CFA charterholder.
