During his tenure at Harvard, Professor Marshall took a leave of absence to become CEO and Chairman of Rochester Shoe Tree Company.
In this role, he led the company through a four-year turnaround effort and implemented a major reorganization and cost reduction program.
Through his efforts, he was able to improve the profitability of the organization in the face of declining sales.
In addition, he is also the co-founder of Putnam, Hayes and Bartlett, a management consulting firm in the Boston area.
