James A. Wells

James A. Wells is the founder of Warp Drive Bio, Inc. (2012), Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (1998), and Calithera Biosciences, Inc. (2010).
At Warp Drive Bio, he did not hold any titles.
At Sunesis Pharmaceuticals, he held the title of Director in 2008.
At Calithera Biosciences, he held the title of Director.
Currently, Dr. Wells holds the position of Chairman-Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at The University of California, San Francisco and Director at ADRx, Inc. He previously held the position of Director at Catalyst Bioscience, Inc. and Scientist at Genentech, Inc. He was also a Member of the National Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Wells received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his doctorate degree from Washington State University in 1979.
